melbourne’s only dedicated scanning workspace
Dedicated to offering an exclusive scanning and colour management service I put all the attention into this service.
I pride myself on working with the best photographic artists and technicians in Australia and provide them with an expert service from the start through to the completion of the job.
The Flextight X5 scanner is the best virtual drum scanner available to photographers. It will provide you with a huge file which is true to the original film, with every subtle detail embedded in your negatives and slides.
By using format scan you can trust that your film and job will be treated in the most professional capacity, while still being an affordable service for artistic, personal and editorial endeavours.
the importance of colour management
The beauty of the Flextight X5 scanner is that it provides you with a ‘raw’ file from your scanned film. Like a raw file from a digital camera this file has no adjustments or settings that interfere with the integrity of the image. This file looks very different to what a file from a mini lab batch scanner (like the Fuji Frontier) will provide.
Because of this, often your file will need further adjustments to bring the grey balance and other colour adjustments back into line with the style of the film which it has been shot on.
If you are planning to use your scanned image for web or print media we will make sure that the colours and file information are matched and perfect for the outcome.
We are happy to offer this colour management option as part of our service to supply the best possible image to our clients.
